Bruce Bale

Role: Umpire Development

Biography:

As President of Leinster Hockey Umpires' Association, Bruce represents LHUA on the Board, with responsibility for umpire development activity. This includes LHA's strategy to invest in club and young umpire programmes, and liaising with Hockey Ireland and IHUA, including on the umpiring pathway and education initiatives.

Having started as a young umpire himself, Bruce currently umpires in the EY Hockey League. He received his international badge in 2005, and has been on the FIH Pro League Panel since 2019, having also officiated at the Champions Trophy (2018), EuroHockey Championships (2017, 2019) and Junior World Cup (2013).

Bruce joined the LHA Board in October 2021.
