Skerries Hockey Club

The coordinator of the U6/8/10/12's is Louise Montgomery. They train every Sunday morning and about 100 boys and girls attend split over a 2 hour period. The coaches are mostly made up of the kids parents who are current and past players. There is a great buzz at all sessions and all the Kids love playing and developing their skills.

This is my 3rd year to coach the U14 boys team and we are delighted to have an U16 team this season. They are competing in the U16B league and train with the Senior team under the guidance of Brian MacMahon, a former U18 Ireland International. We also recently started an U16 team in the Secondary School and will be entering them in the league next season.

Louise's sister Jane Coomey who is a teacher in the Secondary School, looks after the girls teams. They currently have 7 teams competing in their respective schoolgirl leagues and cups.

The Club has lost a lot of members in the past few seasons for many reasons and it is hoped that the junior players coming through will rebuild SHC.
