Botanic Hockey Club (BHC) is an all - ladies hockey club based in Glasnevin, Dublin. It was established when two local hockey clubs, Glasnevin Hockey Club - serving the local community since 1973 and Maryfield Hockey Club united in 1987 to form Botanic Hockey Club.
Originally BHC was made up of past pupils of both schools but now caters for the entire hockey loving community from age 5 and up. It has a rich history in teh community and has enjoyed mmuch success in competition over the years, winning leagues in 1988, 1991, 2000, 2003, 2011 and 2012. Our 4th XI won the Minor Cup in 2002, the cup in 2010 and our 1st XI won the Irish Hockey Challenge in 2012. This thriving club continues to grow and gain support with every season. Our junior membership mirrors our senior club's members, so the future is bright for Botanic.
Our home pitch is situation in St Mary's Holy Faith Convent, Glasnevin. The team colours are royal blue shirt, navy skirt and royal blue socks
Botanic currently has 6 teams playing in the Leinster League : 1st XI (Div 4); 2nd XI (Div 8); 3rd XI (Div 9); 4th XI (Div 11); 5th XI (Div 12); 6th XI (Div 13).
BHC Juniors cater for beginners and players of all ages (boys & girls). Children are coached on Sunday mornings and are assigned to groups according to age and ability. Depending on the number of players registred we aim to have the following teams next season : Under 8, Under 12, Under 14, Senior 1 & Senior 2
