National Under 15 Festival - 18 and 19 May

The Hockey Ireland U15 Festival for Boys and Girls takes place this weekend in Three Rock Rovers HC.
First played in 2014, the festival has grown to accommodate several regional teams from each province. It is an entry level event for players aspiring to represent their province in the Autumn Inter-Provincial competitions at Under 16 level. Most of the players taking part have not had the opportunity to represent their province before so this is a very exciting day for all.
Scores will not be published – the emphasis is on participation and allowing players to develop.
Alongside the players we also have young umpires who are starting out and they will be mentored during the day – please don’t expect perfection in all their decisions and be respectful at all times … without umpires we won’t have any matches!!
The format is designed to maximise playing time - Matches are played within a 30 minute window.
To the players: Enjoy the experience and don’t forget to thank your parents for making it possible for you to participate in the wonderful sport of hockey.
To the clubs, schools, coaches and managers: Thank you for all the time you have invested in these athletes.
To the umpires: A huge thank you for supporting these events and we look forward to seeing you at future competitions!
