Diane Lodewyks joins the Leinster Hockey Team
December 13, 2023
The Leinster Hockey Association are delighted to announce that Diane Lodewyks has been appointed to the Development Programme Manager role as part of the Player Development and High Performance programme.
As DPM Diane will be responsible for continuing to set up and roll out the district and regional development centres across Leinster. The focus in the centres will be on the entry level players. While the centres will primarily focus on player development they will also provide a platform for young umpire development programmes and for local club/school development activities.
A member of Enniscorthy Hockey Club where she has held numerous roles in recent years, Diane has been part of the Leinster South Interpro Development Management team and also delivered a number of Hockey Ireland programmes in the region. Prior to this, Diane was based in South Africa.
“I am excited to see Diane joining Leinster Hockey at this time as we launch our Strategic Plan and I look forward to seeing increased development around the province where the emphasis will continue to be on player development, independent to selection for inter-provincial panels. The establishment and growth of the Regional Development Centres will provide a critical bridge to the high performance inter-provincial panels”
Ken Miller LHA Youth Director
“Development and retention are key pillars of the Leinster Hockey Strategic Plan and I know that Diane will continue the great work being carried out with the Development Programme as it is rolled out to more players across the province”
Fiona Walshe LHA Director - Development
“I would like to congratulate Diane on being appointed to this critical role in the development of hockey in the province. I would also like to acknowledge the support of AerCap which has made this appointment possible.”
