Sports Capital Grants Announced

The Leinster Hockey Board welcomed the recent announcement of Sports Capital Grants to clubs which will see new pitches and facility upgrades in thirteen venues across the province. The announcements by Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport & Media, Catherine Martin TD and Minister of State for the Gaeltacht & Sport, Jack Chambers TD are "a welcome endorsement for our sport and we look forward to seeing these clubs grow and develop in the coming years". The Leinster Hockey Chair, David Curran, added that "the funding announcement was crucial for the development of hockey which has seen huge growth in all areas - Youth, Seniors, Masters, HockeyID and Indoor".
Currently there are 46 clubs in the Leinster region with over 150 schools also playing competitive fixtures. There are over 25,000 registered players in the region.
