Interprovincial Weekend featuring Women's Under 21 Final
January 13, 2022
The Leinster Under 20 team will be hoping for another win against Connacht who they beat in the round robin stages. The format for this competition is slightly different to the Under 16s and Under 18s – Connacht are permitted to play with players outside of the age group, while both Munster and Leinster were limited to players under the age of 20. The matches have been very competitive and the final should be an exciting game. It is planned to live stream the final with links to follow on social media over the weekend.
Mullingar Hockey Club play host to their first inter-provincial matches in Wilson’s Hospital School on their new pitch. Leinster South are excited to take on Connacht in what should be a very competitive set of games. In their last two games the Leinster South Under 16s drew with Munster and Ulster. Both games went to penalty shoot-outs for a bonus point and Leinster South were the winners against Ulster. The LS Under 18s are hoping to add to their points and get a result against Connacht Under 18s. Hopefully this will be an inspirational event for the young players who will be helping out and watching the games.
Leinster girls travel to Banbridge HC to take on Ulster. The Under 16s will be keen to hold onto their top of the table position and the Under 18s will be keen to get off the mark having lost their last two games to Connacht and Munster.
