Female Leadership Conference 24th November
November 20, 2019
This is for all the female leaders in clubs – Chairpersons, Secretaries, Treasurers, Committee Members, Volunteers, Youth Co-Ordinators, Umpire Secretaries & Umpires, Children’s Officers, Designated Persons ….. in fact anyone who is or hopes to be in a leadership role with your club!
Hockey Ireland are holding a Female Leadership Conference on Sunday 24th November 2019 from 10am to 4pm at the National Sports Arena, Abbotstown.
The conference aims to:
Engage – with leaders and potential leaders in our hockey community
Inspire – through key speakers at the event the desire to step forward and self-awareness understanding that you can do it
Support – participants in setting goals and coming up with a ‘pledge’ and a plan of how to achieve this (linked to Hockey Ireland Programme to launch in the New Year)
We are delighted that former Irish international captain, Sarah Kelleher, is the keynote speaker at the conference. Sarah is a high performance coaching expert who played for Ireland for over 10 years, including the 1994 World Cup, and has worked extensively within the international underage system in England with huge success.
We also have Inez Cooper speaking on how you can use your skills to make hockey better and interviews with silver medal winning Roisin Upton, Carol Metchette and Alison Keogh, amongst others.
We are also pleased to announce that Marie Crowe will host the conference. Marie is a sports journalist and broadcaster with RTÉ Sport. She presents RTÉ's nightly sports radio show Game On and also regularly reports on live sport for the national broadcaster. Marie was previously a staff writer for the Sunday Independent where she spent a decade interviewing some of Ireland's most successful sports stars.
